Minecraft has crossed 300 million copies sold worldwide, and the Bedrock build that runs on Android shares servers, Marketplace content, and Realms worlds with Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Windows 10.
Released for Android on October 7, 2011 under the name Pocket Edition, Minecraft is the open-world sandbox from Mojang Studios (owned by Microsoft since 2014), running today as Bedrock Edition version 1.26.30.21 after the May 14, 2026 hotfix. The mobile build matches the world generation, mob behaviour, and Marketplace catalog of the Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch versions, with touch controls, an on-screen D-pad in the lower-left corner, and a jump button placed for thumb reach. Every world spans roughly 60 million blocks east-to-west across three dimensions: the Overworld, the Nether, and the End. Cross-play through Xbox Live lets you join Realms with up to 10 friends from any Bedrock platform. The December 9, 2025 Mounts of Mayhem game drop, version 1.21.130, added the spear weapon, mounted combat, and the nautilus underwater mount.

Three dimensions and 60+ biomes that shape every Minecraft world
Every Minecraft world sits inside three dimensions, each generated with its own ruleset. The Overworld is where you spawn, holds 54 biomes in Bedrock Edition, and reaches a build height of Y=320 since the Caves and Cliffs update raised the ceiling from 256. The Nether is accessed through an obsidian portal frame (minimum 4 by 5 blocks, maximum 23 by 23) ignited with flint and steel, and runs at a 1:8 distance ratio against the Overworld, so every block walked in the Nether equals eight blocks in the Overworld. The End is the third dimension, where the Ender Dragon waits on a single endstone island ringed by ten obsidian pillars topped with End Crystals.
The 54 Overworld biomes split across eight loose categories. The hot-dry group covers Desert (cactus, husk zombies that resist sunlight), Savanna (acacia wood, pillager outposts with crossbows), and Badlands (red terracotta layers and gold ore that generates at any height instead of capping at Y=32). Temperate biomes hold the most familiar terrain: Plains, Forest, Dark Forest (woodland mansions with totems of undying), and Cherry Grove, added in April 2023 with pink-leaf canopies and bee nests producing honey bottles. Cold and snowy biomes include Old Growth Pine Taiga (spruce wood and wolves), Ice Spikes (rare blue ice towers up to Y=120), and Jagged Peaks (Y=200+ where powder snow generates).
The remaining Overworld categories cover wet, aquatic, cave, and special biomes:
- Wet biomes: Swamp (slimes spawn under Y=63 at night, a 0-7 light level requirement), Mangrove Swamp added in June 2022 with mud blocks, propagules, and tropical fish
- Aquatic biomes: Warm Ocean (the only place for coral reefs and pufferfish), Lukewarm, Cold, Frozen Ocean, with ocean monuments holding elder guardians at 80 HP each
- Cave biomes: Lush Caves (azalea trees grow downward toward them, glow berries on caves ceilings), Dripstone Caves (pointed dripstone deals up to 6 damage when fallen on), Deep Dark added in 1.19 with the Warden at 500 HP
- Special biomes: Mushroom Fields where zero hostile mobs spawn even at night, and Pale Garden added in version 1.21.4 (late 2024) with pale oak trees and the Creaking, a hostile mob that freezes whenever you look at it
The Nether contains five biomes, each with its own loot pool. Nether Wastes is the default netherrack landscape, with ghasts overhead and zombie piglin patrols you can bypass without aggro unless you strike them or open a gold-related chest. Crimson Forest has hoglins for porkchops and piglins that barter gold ingots for fire resistance potions and ender pearls. Warped Forest is the safest Nether biome, where only endermen spawn naturally and only attack if you look directly at their heads. Soul Sand Valley fields blue soul fire that burns hotter than regular fire, plus the soul sand needed to summon the Wither boss (four blocks of soul sand and three wither skeleton skulls). Basalt Deltas pack lava lakes and magma cubes between basalt columns. Build limit in the Nether caps at 128 blocks because of the bedrock ceiling.
The End contains one biome in Bedrock Edition (Java Edition splits it into five). The main island holds the Ender Dragon at 200 HP. Outer islands sit roughly 1,000 blocks beyond the central platform across the void, and contain End Cities with shulker boxes plus End Ships carrying the elytra, the only flight item available without Creative mode.
Survival, Creative, Adventure, and Hardcore: the four game modes
Minecraft Bedrock Edition ships with four modes, each toggled when you create the world. Difficulty within those modes runs across Peaceful, Easy, Normal, and Hard.
- Survival: You spawn with an empty inventory, 20 HP (10 hearts), and 20 hunger points. Hostile mobs deal damage, falling more than three blocks costs HP, and death drops your hotbar and inventory at the spot you died. On Hard difficulty, hunger can drop your HP to zero, zombies break wooden doors after roughly 15-30 seconds of pounding, and creepers deal up to 49 damage at point-blank.
- Creative: Inventory is unlimited and split into 12 tabs (Construction, Decoration, Redstone, Transportation, Foods, Tools, Combat, Brewing, Materials, Items, Mobs, Survival Inventory). You fly by double-tapping the jump button, take zero damage from fall, lava, drowning, or the void, and break any block in one hit regardless of tool tier.
- Adventure: Built for player-made maps. You cannot break or place blocks unless your tool carries the CanDestroy or CanPlaceOn NBT tag matching the block. Marketplace adventure worlds and parkour maps run in this mode to prevent griefing the puzzle layout.
- Hardcore: Locked to Hard difficulty. You get one life: dying does not respawn the player, the world switches to Spectator mode and you watch your build from a free camera. Available in Bedrock since the 2023 update, this mode shares the same world generation as Survival.
The crafting ladder from wood pickaxe to netherite gear
Crafting in Minecraft runs through a 3 by 3 grid on the crafting table, with smaller 2 by 2 grids on the player inventory. Recipes follow strict shape patterns: a sword takes two same-tier ingots stacked vertically plus a stick at the bottom, a pickaxe takes three across the top and two sticks down the middle, and so on. Tool tiers escalate in durability, mining speed, and damage:
- Wood tier: 60 uses on a pickaxe, mines stone but not iron, deals 4 damage with a sword
- Stone tier: 132 uses, mines iron and copper ore, 5 damage with a sword
- Iron tier: 251 uses, mines diamond and emerald ore, 6 damage with a sword
- Gold tier: 33 uses (the worst durability in the game), but the fastest mining speed for the tools it can break, and required for piglin bartering
- Diamond tier: 1,562 uses, mines ancient debris in the Nether, 7 damage with a sword
- Netherite tier: 2,032 uses, immune to lava and fire damage, 8 damage with a sword, floats on lava when dropped
Smelting runs through the furnace (8 seconds per item, smelts every ore type), the blast furnace (4 seconds per item, ores and metal armor only), and the smoker (4 seconds per item, food only). Enchanting needs an enchanting table surrounded by up to 15 bookshelves placed exactly one block away, reaching level 30 enchantments such as Sharpness V, Protection IV, and Mending. Anvils repair gear by combining items of the same type and applying enchantments from books, costing experience levels that scale with the enchantment count.
Brewing uses the brewing stand and blaze powder fuel. Awkward potion (water bottle plus nether wart) is the base for most useful brews: Strength (blaze powder, +3 attack damage for 3:00), Swiftness (sugar, +20% movement speed), Fire Resistance (magma cream, full fire immunity for 3:00), and Healing (glistering melon, instant +4 HP). The redstone modifier extends duration; glowstone amplifies the effect tier.
Over 100 mob species across the Overworld, Nether, and End
Minecraft mobs split into four behaviour groups, with each mob carrying its own HP pool, damage value, and drops. The current Bedrock roster crosses 100 species when counting variants like baby forms, husks, drowned, and the new zombie mounts.
Passive mobs never attack you regardless of provocation. The food roster is built on cow (drops 1-3 raw beef, 0-2 leather), pig (1-3 raw porkchop), chicken (1 raw chicken, 0-2 feathers, lays one egg every 5-10 minutes), and sheep (1-2 raw mutton plus 1 wool block dyeable by 16 colors). Villagers in plains, savanna, desert, and snowy villages trade resources for emeralds across 13 professions, with the librarian and farmer trades giving the cheapest XP per emerald.
Neutral mobs stay friendly until provoked. Wolves (8 HP wild, 20 HP after taming with a bone) follow you anywhere and deal 4 damage to your enemies. Llamas (15-30 HP) can be tamed for caravans of up to 10 mobs and carry chests after equipping a carpet. Iron Golems guard villages and deal 7 to 21 damage on a single attack, scaling with size. Bees pollinate flowers and produce 5 honey levels per beehive, but sting and die after a single attack like real bees.
Hostile mobs attack on sight at the relevant light level threshold:
- Zombie: 20 HP, 3 damage on Normal, spawns at light level 0, burns in direct sunlight
- Skeleton: 20 HP, fires arrows for 1-5 damage depending on draw distance, drops bones for taming wolves
- Creeper: 20 HP, ignites a 1.5-second fuse on approach, deals up to 49 damage at point-blank, drops gunpowder for TNT and rockets
- Spider: 16 HP, climbs walls vertically, neutral in daylight and hostile at night, drops string for bows and crossbows
- Enderman: 40 HP, teleports up to 32 blocks when shot at, only attacks when you look at its head, drops 1 ender pearl per kill
- Drowned: 20 HP, spawns in oceans and river biomes, has roughly 8.5% chance of carrying a trident that deals 9 damage thrown
Boss mobs require deliberate effort to summon or find. The Wither (300 HP) is built with four soul sand blocks and three wither skeleton skulls, shoots wither-effect skulls that damage over time, and drops the Nether Star for beacons. The Ender Dragon (200 HP) sits at the center of the End and respawns with four end crystals on the obsidian pillars. The Warden (500 HP, 30 damage on Normal melee) spawns in Deep Dark biomes from sculk shriekers; it cannot see, but tracks players through vibration and sniffing, and a sneaking approach with wool muffling is the only realistic counter.
Realms, LAN, and dedicated servers for cross-platform multiplayer
Minecraft Bedrock Edition runs four multiplayer paths from a single login, all routed through Xbox Live cross-play. Realms is the official rented-server subscription, with two tiers: Realms costs $3.99 per month for a 2-friend world, Realms Plus runs $7.99 per month for a 10-friend world plus the included Marketplace pack drops. Worlds stay online 24/7 even when no one is logged in, and progress syncs across Android, iOS, Windows, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch.
LAN multiplayer works inside a single Wi-Fi network and connects automatically through the Friends tab when both devices share the same network. Up to 8 players can join one host’s world this way without an Xbox Live login. Featured Servers covers the four built-in partner servers visible from the main menu (CubeCraft, Mineplex, The Hive, and Lifeboat), with minigames such as SkyWars, Bed Wars, BlockParty, and Murder Mystery. Custom servers (any unofficial IP) can be added through the Servers tab and joined like any other.
The Minecraft Marketplace is the in-game store where Microsoft sells player-built and partner-built content. Skin packs cost 160-490 Minecoins (roughly $1-$3), texture packs 310-980 coins, and full custom worlds 490-1,990 coins. Minecoin bundles start at 320 coins for $1.99 and scale up to 8,000 coins for $39.99. Marketplace Pass is a separate subscription that bundles roughly 150+ content packs for $3.99 per month, and overlaps with the Realms Plus benefit.
What’s new in Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.30.21
Version 1.26.30.21 rolled out as a hotfix on May 14, 2026, addressing crash and stability bugs after the 26.20 release earlier in May. Mojang switched to a year-based numbering scheme starting January 2026, replacing the older 1.21.x format with 26.x for releases tagged to the year. The most recent feature drop on top of the new versioning is Mounts of Mayhem, released as version 1.21.130 on December 9, 2025, with content still active on 1.26.30.21. Key changes across the current cycle:
- The spear weapon (1.21.130): A new tiered weapon crafted in wood, stone, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite. Spear damage scales with your movement speed at the moment of attack, and the Lunge enchantment (unique to the spear) gives a burst of forward speed during the jab attack, with travel distance scaling across enchant levels I-III.
- Three new mounts (1.21.130): Zombie horse (20 HP, the long-rumored mob finally added to Survival), camel husk (24 HP, spawns in deserts with a husk and a parched rider, daytime-immune), and nautilus (aquatic mount tamed with pufferfish, gives the Breath of the Nautilus effect that freezes your air bar underwater).
- Netherite horse armor (1.21.130): Provides 19 armor points, 3 armor toughness, and 1 knockback resistance. Crafted by upgrading diamond horse armor in a smithing table with a netherite upgrade template.
- Nautilus armor (1.21.130): A new tiered armor set for the tamed nautilus and zombie nautilus, with copper, iron, gold, diamond, and netherite variants. Cannot be crafted; lower tiers drop from ocean structure chests.
- The parched mob (1.21.130): A desert skeleton variant that ignores sunlight, often spawns riding camel husks, and fires arrows like the standard skeleton at 4-9 damage on Hard difficulty.
- Closed Captions (26.0): Released out of beta with customisable position, duration, and per-sound toggles, making gameplay accessible for hearing-impaired players.
- Stability fixes (1.26.30.21): Fixed the freeze when opening a furnace with no available recipes, several gameplay crashes, a launch crash on specific Android devices, and the “Search for people” button activating when not signed in (issue MCPE-235488).
Minecraft MOD APK features
The Minecraft MOD APK rebuilds the Bedrock Edition install so the one-time purchase price is removed and the Minecoin economy that gates Marketplace content is bypassed. It targets players who want every skin, world, and mash-up in the Marketplace without paying $6.99 for the base game plus $0.99-$39.99 in coin bundles.
Unlimited Minecoins
The Minecoin balance stays locked at 99,999 instead of needing real-money bundles like 320 coins for $1.99 or 8,000 coins for $39.99. You can spend freely on Marketplace listings such as Cartoon Furniture Mod (490 coins), Modern Mansions Pack (990 coins), Lucky Block Worlds (1,490 coins), or large mash-ups like the Sonic the Hedgehog DLC (1,990 coins). This bypasses the Minecoins paywall completely, useful for unlocking dozens of skin packs and texture packs that normally cost 200-490 coins each.
All Marketplace skins and texture packs unlocked
The default skin chooser is locked to nine free Steve and Alex variants. The MOD opens the full Marketplace catalog, including all character creator items, persona pieces, and partnered IP skin packs (Sonic, Spider-Man, Stranger Things, Star Wars). Texture packs like Faithful 32x, Pure BDcraft, John Smith Legacy, and the Vanilla RTX ray-tracing pack are applied immediately without the standard 310-980 coin purchase each.
Premium full version, no Microsoft account purchase
Stock Minecraft Bedrock on Google Play costs roughly $6.99 as a one-time payment, with a Lite demo version that runs for 90 minutes per session and locks Survival mode at world day 5. The MOD ships the full premium build at no charge: all four modes (Survival, Creative, Adventure, Hardcore) unlocked from install, no demo timer, full world save support, and the complete biome and dimension set including the Pale Garden and Deep Dark.
God Mode and unlimited Survival inventory
Survival mode normally caps your HP at 20 (10 hearts) and exposes you to creeper blasts of up to 49 damage, lava (4 damage per half-second), and the Warden’s 30-damage melee in the Deep Dark. God Mode toggles damage immunity, keeping HP at 20/20 regardless of source. The unlimited inventory feature spawns any item from the Creative tabs straight into your hotbar in Survival, including 64-stacks of diamonds, netherite ingots, blaze rods, and ancient debris that would normally take 50-100 hours of grinding to gather organically.
No ads on the Marketplace screen
Stock Bedrock shows promotional banners and Marketplace Pass adverts on the main menu and the in-game store tab. The MOD strips out these promotional surfaces, leaving the Marketplace browsable for content rather than pushing the $3.99 Marketplace Pass and $7.99 Realms Plus subscriptions.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Minecraft MOD APK safe to install on Android?
The MOD APK is a repackaged version of Mojang’s Bedrock Edition with modifications layered on top, distributed outside the Google Play Store. It runs on Android 8.0 and above like the official build. Google Play Protect will flag the install as “from an unknown source” because the signing certificate is not Mojang’s, so you need to enable Install Unknown Apps for your browser or file manager before running the installer.
Will using the MOD APK get my Microsoft account banned from Realms?
Signing into Xbox Live from a modified client and joining a Realms server you do not own carries account-flag risk because the server detects the cheat flag the moment unlimited items or God Mode is used. The safe pattern for keeping a clean account is to run the MOD APK offline or in single-player worlds, and switch back to the official Bedrock build before logging into Realms or Featured Servers.
Can the MOD APK still play multiplayer with friends on Bedrock?
LAN multiplayer over Wi-Fi still works for up to 8 players in the same network, because LAN sessions do not check the client signature. Realms and Featured Servers (CubeCraft, Mineplex, The Hive, Lifeboat) require Xbox Live authentication and will detect a modified client, so you cannot join those servers with the MOD enabled.
What is the difference between Pocket Edition and Bedrock Edition?
Pocket Edition was the mobile-only name used from August 2011 until version 1.2.0 (September 2017), when Mojang unified all non-Java versions under the Bedrock engine. Since then, the same Bedrock build runs on Android, iOS, Windows 10, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. Pocket Edition no longer exists as a separate product, even though the term is still used informally for the Android and iOS builds.
What are the minimum Android requirements for Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.30.21?
The official build requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher, at least 2 GB RAM, and roughly 400 MB of free storage for the base game. Worlds with large render distances and active redstone farms work best on devices with 4 GB or more RAM. Vibrant Visuals (the lighting and shadow upgrade added in 2025) is locked to devices with the Vulkan API and at least 6 GB RAM, including Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and newer chipsets.
